I and my wife Smt.Jotshna Mishra have been into these type of experiential tours with our zeal for contributing something to this world. We believe in the following quotation.
'Go
Where none has gone
Dig deeper deeper still
Till you find the grim foundation stone.
And knock at the key-less gate'
- Sri Aurobindo.
I along with my wife, Smt Jotshna Mishra successfully completed the ride, Leh to Kanyakumari, on our Royal Enfield bullet motor cycle, with me as the single rider. The expedition also covered 5 passes of Himalayas including the Tangangla (17,857 ft). the second highest pass of the world.
As we went ahead on our bike towards Ladakh region we encountered a number of hard challenges. For travelling and claiming mountains on motorcycle is not only an extremely tiring tough activity, it is also the ultimate test of physical stamina and will power.
We covered several passes of Himalayas but when we reached Tangalangala pass towering 17,857 ft. the second highest pass of the world, it was like standing on the top of the world. At the end of the day we reached amidst the heavy snowfall at Baralachala pass which is at the height of 16,500 ft. The biting cold and dipping levels of oxygen made us experience breathing problems, which just made our experience much more challenging and thrilling.
After coming down from Rohtang, the last pass, we reached Manali. then from Manali we proceeded towards Kanyakumari covering Chandigarh, Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Salem, Madurai as the route was planned and maintained a logbook which Limca Book Records asked us to get entry at several posts on our way to Kanyakumari.
We broke the existing Limca Book Record of 177hrs. We reached Kanyakumari with a long ride of 169hrs 45 min (7 days 1hr 45 min) and cover 13 major states of India.
This expedition was not just about the thrill of travelling between Leh and Kanyakumari but about discover new routes, appreciating the diversity and beauty of India and being proud Indians. The surreal experience like heavy rain, snowfall, different temperature, climatic change, different type of roads including roadblocks and breakdowns, diversity in language, landscape and all, we have preserved the memories in the form of visual and videos.
It was a very thrilling experience and we feel that more and more youth should come forward and take the challenge and share their experience. It is an experience of freedom and the sprit of exploring the world around us.
The world belongs to those who wish to receive it with open arms.
