S outhern India can get extremely hot during the summer months so when we were planning our Guinness trip, Longest Journey by Public Transportation in a Single Country, we made sure we visited it around  the end of February.  Visiting South India was a very different experience for both of us.  Southern India gave us a relaxing and invigorating experience. It has a rich Dravidian culture and history  which dominates with its ancient temples which truly are the symbol of magnificence. Vivek Express,  Longest train in India by both time and distance. A journey is a pleasure and it is much more joyful to me if it is a train journey. It caters to all my excitement points : varied sizes of railway stations, exploring less known places, interesting food, the hustle bustle at the stations, young lads belting out songs to make some money, tea-chain-lock&key vendors making noise (although after a few stations you kind of start to enjoy it) and region specific intersting food and not to forget...the most interesting people .
