Chandan Yatra is the most religious festval celebrated in the shrine of Jagannath Temple at Puri. Lord Jagannath gave a direct instruction to the founder of Jagannath Temple King Indradyumna to perform Chandan Yatra during the time summer. The festival starting from Akshaya Trutiya the third day of the waxing moon of Vaisakha month for twenty one days. Chandan Yatra, the name of the festival is very symbolic as sandal paste popularly known as chandan and water are its inseparable constituents. that is why the festival is held in the month of Vaisakha, a time when the summer heat is at its peak and sandel paste and water are essential to keep the people cool. Kashmir  to  Kanyakumari with the message of Save Girl Child and Child Education. I my self along with my wife Smt. Jotshna Mishra, we conducted a Motor Cycle Expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on our Royal Enfield, DL 9SF 3641  with the message “Save Girl Child and Child Education”. India is known to be home to largest number r of poor people in the world. More than 40 percent of the Indian population is known to be illiterate and adverse financial conditions in India are reasons for lack of education for the girl child in Indian rural sector and at present 35 million girls in India do not attend school. Although there are uproars about gender equality female infants are still killed before they could start their life. This is the fate of the girl child in our country. To address these issues we stopped 654 villages of 62 distracts 13 States of India during our motor cycle ride from top to bottom part of the  India, Kashmier to Kanyakum

Jai Jagannath, After my retirement from service of 29 years on 31 st  March, 2011, I left Delhi and settled down in Puri (Jagannath Dham), in my home State of Orissa. My new residence, Puri, gave me opportunities which I had dreamt of. I am now fully involved in my creative pursuit which is photography, oil painting, playing music on my synthesiser and traveling and exploring my surroundings which has been my hobby since childhood. Apart from these, studying about the   Jagannath Temple and its surroundings fascinates me. Jagannath was called “Purusttam” since his origin at Puri or Purustam – Shri Keshetra. Lord Jagannath was originally worshipped as Lord Neela Madhav by Savar king Viswavasu. Having heard about the deity, King Indradyumna sent a Brahmin priest, Vidyapati to locate the deity. After hearing from Vidyapati, King Indradyumna   proceeded immediately to see and worship the deity. But the deity had disappeared. The king was disappointed. The deity was hidden

For travelling and claiming mountains on motorcycle is not only an extremely tiring tough activity, it is also the ultimate test of physical stamina and will power. We covered several passes of Himalay
